Names have significance.  This is especially true in the Bible.  They tell of a person’s birth or background or temperament or personality or a message from God.  And this is just as true with the names that God uses about himself.  They reveal a bit more about who God is and his character.  And when we know God by name, it has enormous impact on our relationship with him and what he means to us.  This sermon is just the first of many that deal with God’s names and the two that we will examine closer are ‘Elohim and ‘El.
