January 19
Jeremiah is a prophet known for weeping over the destruction of his people and city. When was the last time you wept over the people around you or your town?

I based my sermon on the hymn When I Survey the Wondrous Cross. And I think it is good, not just as Easter time, but throughout the year to focus on the cross. Look at all the Jesus did for us and reflect on it’s implications. Since he was willing to give his all for us, out of thankfulness and gratitude for this undeserved grace, we should give our all for him. Or as the hymn concludes, “Demands my soul, my life, my all”.

Pray. Stop right now and pray. Did you pray? Why not? God wants to hear from you. Take a few moments and tell him everything that is on your mind. You will be glad you did.

Once again I am very late posting this devotional. But it will be quick. I am praying that you all and the rest of our nations will have a happy new year in Christ.
December 22
I am posting this very late in the week so I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and that you will take God into your Happy New Year.

I am glad that even though with the canceled service on Sunday I was able to share the second part of Lee Strobel’s book, The Case for Christmas. And even though I missed the interaction between me and you, I still have this post to connect. I hope this Advent season is going well for you all and as we look forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus in a little more than a week, that we will spend this time reflecting on the incredibly wondrous gift we have all been given. Thank you Jesus for coming that first Christmas.
December 8
As we enter the Advent season, I hope you will start to take the Spirit of Christmas into your hearts and home this season in a new way. Find ways to remember that Jesus was born so many years ago and that he still lives today.
December 1
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. But remember that thankfulness is not just this one day a year. Be thankful as we go into this Christmas season.
