Nothing in all the world compares to our God.  One of the reasons why that I did not mention is that God is not part of this world.  He made it and is separate from it.  And he has the power to do what please him.  Are you doing what pleases him?

March 2

Weep before the Lord this week asking him what you can do to let the world around you know more about Jesus.

The question every Christian and every church needs to ask itself is have we become a den of thieves.  Do we just hang out on Sunday in between our crimes against God?  Do we think that coming together one day a week will fulfill our obligations to God?  If so, we need to change our way of thinking.  We need to confess and repent and start doing what God wants the other 313 days of the week (365-52).

February 16

I was away from the office on this Monday taking my child on a college visit.  And I forgot the rest of the week to add a post.  So here is a post post post.

Righteousness does not come from anything we have done.  The Bible makes this clear.  The only righteousness that we can depend on is a person who perfectly and sinlessly obeyed God 100% of the time.  And the only one who did this is Jesus.  Do you know what Jesus did for you?  If not, contact me to find out more about him.

Being circumcised is more than just a snip or two on the outside.  It involves a snip or two on our hearts inside.  This does not take radical surgery.  It just is a commitment to listening and obeying God’s voice to us.  It is dedication to serving the Lord and doing what his word tells us.  Are you circumcised in this way?

Ending well is just as important (if not more so) than beginning well.  Just because you start off well, does not guarantee that you will end well.  You cannot take God’s blessings for granted, which I think we are beginning to do here in America.  It is important that we continue trusting and relying on God, or his blessings from the beginning may not last.

Jeremiah is a prophet known for weeping over the destruction of his people and city.  When was the last time you wept over the people around you or your town?

January 12

I based my sermon on the hymn When I Survey the Wondrous Cross.  And I think it is good, not just as Easter time, but throughout the year to focus on the cross.  Look at all the Jesus did for us and reflect on it’s implications.  Since he was willing to give his all for us, out of thankfulness and gratitude for this undeserved grace, we should give our all for him.  Or as the hymn concludes, “Demands my soul, my life, my all”.

January 5

Pray.  Stop right now and pray.  Did you pray?  Why not?  God wants to hear from you.  Take a few moments and tell him everything that is on your mind.  You will be glad you did.
